Hi I’m Natalie 😊
This is a space I’ve carved out to jot down recipes I’ve created over the years as I’ve learned how to cook. This site is primarily about cooking, but also has tips, resources, and insights I’ve discovered in new areas of life, such as motherhood.
It was during my master’s degree in mathematics that I started to discover the many culinary flavors and techniques out in our big wide world and how much I enjoyed learning about and trying them. I hadn’t grown up in a very flavor curious household (although both parents made lovely food!) so this discovery was enthralling, so much so that I wondered even if I should pursue the culinary arts and leave my master’s program. I did finish my degree in the end but left that program with two passions that have stayed with me ever since.
Initially I created this blog to keep track of my recipes and more easily bring them up while cooking, rather than hunting through computer, phone, and physical folders where I’d stash them. I quickly realized however, it is also a wonderful way to share recipes with friends, family and now you too!
My hope is that you can enjoy the dishes on this site as much as I do and feel inspired and encouraged to cook, whether you’re a seasoned cook or just starting to give it a go. Thanks so much for visiting and I’d love to hear from you in the comments of recipes if you give one a try!
A bit more about me personally.
I’m originally from Columbus, Ohio in the United States, but moved to Wellington, New Zealand in 2014.
I’m married to a lovely kiwi guy named, Liam. He too is a Data Scientist, we actually met at work. His passion for Statistics has continued to provide growth and excitement for my first passion of mathematics, but he’s been a loving encourager (and recipient) of this culinary passion as well. He’s my first taste tester and recipe guinea pig, but also a wonderful cook himself.

We’ve been married for 3 years and have a little girl called Chloe.

Together we also have a fur baby, Lorenzo, a very cute long haired black cat 😊
